We served in the same PPA and we fell in love

As members of 2020 Batch B were celebrating their Passing Out Parade (POP) across the nation on Thursday, a Corps member, Paul Ochai, stole the show as he bent his knee to propose to his soulmate, Love, at the NYSC Zonal Office, Jalingo, Taraba State.

Like every NYSC love story, it always start somewhere. Here's how their love began 👇👇👇

I met Love at my PPA - Federal Medical Center, Jalingo, specifically the Nutrition and Dietetics Dept. It was just the two of us serving diligently as Corps Members, although she came a batch ahead of me (i.e Batch B Stream 2020) while I'm Batch A stream 1 2021.

I'm an Idoma born from Otukpo, Benue State and while Love is from Bassa Nge, Kogi State.

When we got talking initially, we found out from our conversations that we both wanted Akwa Ibom as our first choice (state of deployment) but we were given Taraba State which we both didn't like and then same PPA because we had both studied almost the same thing. She studied NUTRITION and DIETETICS from Federal Polytechnic, Kaduna while I studied HOME SCIENCE and MANAGEMENT from Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

We eventually became friends, then good friends. We always talked in the line of Purpose and vision making every moment a memorable one.

We were both in different relationships at the early stage of the friendship so we kept the pressure of the love atmosphere away because we discussed our relationships with ourselves and encouraged each other with the hope that we would never miss it as believers.

The miracle happened and we both broke up with our partners and in no time I took the bold step and made my intentions known after much prayers and fasting. I got the leading and she also confirmed my intentions and we made things official by going to see our parents and on her POP I decided to honour her before the world.

We've seen our parents, plans are ongoing and the wedding comes up 10th and 11th of December, 2021.

As dieticians, we believe our love was made by the Master Chef, God himself and we look forward to a delicious and blissful marital life, happy ever after!

Long live NYSC Taraba!

Congratulations @paul_ochai

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

How I 'dramatically' met my wife in NYSC Sokoto

It all started on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022. I was posted to Sokoto for NYSC camp, but I had planned to be a “ghost Corper” since I lived in Kebbi, just two hours away. My plan was to only show up for clearances and return home. I was posted to Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE), Sokoto, for my PPA with my friend Firdausi.  After documentation, we were to choose a CDS group. Firdausi picked Freedom of Information Vanguard (FOIV) because it was close to the Corper’s lodge and advised me to do the same, so I did. I still wanted to relocate to Kebbi, but Firdausi encouraged me to attend CDS at least a few times to know how things worked. One Wednesday, we trekked to the CDS venue at Bado Quarters. I arrived late.  As I entered, I saw her—Saudat. A calm, beautiful young lady. I froze thinking, “If she agrees to date me, I’ll marry her after NYSC,” but another thought said, “Forget it, girls this fine here are probably married already.” Throughout the meeting, I k...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...
