Hausa Christian and Yoruba Muslim: How Genesis & Ganiyah met in NYSC and got married. 👇

It all started when I got posted to Yobe state, I did direct posting to Lagos but it didn’t work. I met Genesis on 24/05/21, he was the Sport Director of my platoon (Platoon 6 of 21A, stream 2)

On the day of our ManOWar drill, I was doing snaps on my phone. He moved close to me and said I was not as fine as the filter was making me and I told him “I am a very beautiful girl with or without the filter." During the drill he was behind me and was hyping me, giving me morale to go on (it was sweet) we took lots of pictures together.

👨: After the drill we were asked to fill the relocation form but I didn’t want to fill my own and she was very worried even when we’ve not started talking. I was shocked (I had butterflies) cause I couldn’t believe someone I just met could care for me so I decided to fill the form.

That evening, we had a friendly conversation under the canopy. We talked about different things till we got to the relationship part and Ganiyah was like “I would like to get into a relationship but I want it to be a serious one that will lead to marriage”. I was quiet for like a sec thinking “what kind of a girl is this, very unlike a typical Nigerian girl to be bold about herself to a guy”. Interestingly, I was also looking for the same thing and immediately I knew she’s the ONE. From that moment we were inseparable.

👩: On the last day of camp he saw me off to Kano and we were together. The morning after I was leaving for Lagos, I decided not to hug him cos I was forming hard girl and didn’t want to cry but we said our goodbyes and he left to Taraba state.

We made everything possible with communication (ours was topnotch). We were always getting along apart from the time I was causing trouble.

He is a very smart and sweet man, always finding solution to everything, he was always coming over to Kogi to see me and I to Jos to see him even if it was a very long journey (9 hours) we made it work.

On the night of Oct 20, 2021 he asked me to marry him and spend forever with him and I said YES and on the 29th of December 2021 we became Mr & Mrs Kevi

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...

We met in NYSC, separated but came back together 😍🤣💍🇳🇬

Femi and I struck a friendship during our NYSC orientation exercise in 2013. Even though there was always an initial attraction; we were both committed to other things and people and we left it as a good friendship. However, we kept in touch and in 2014, while Femi was away furthering his studies, we got closer and spoke every day. At this point, we were both single and decided to commit to each other. Our friends and family became well acquainted with each other and it felt like a fairy tale. Sadly, we parted ways a few years later. We were quite young and there were a lot of sacrifices we both weren’t willing to make then. However, the love and friendship we had never wavered; and our families always kept in touch and believed that God would guide us back to each other. We started dating other people so we barely communicated due to the respect we owed our previous relationships. My relationship at the time ended terribly and surprisingly, Femi who hadn’t spoken to me in over a...
