How I found love in NYSC after a serious heartbreak 💔

We met in NYSC 2018/19 Edo State. I am Tiv. She's Igbo. I am Benue while she's Ngwa. I was in 200 level when I lost a long time relationship. I knew it would throw me off balance & due to my soft-heartedness I needed an escape route. Instead of facing the pain, I kept running away from it.

I got into student's unionism, contested for President, went further to become the Departmental Secretary General, travelled to some Nigerian universities representing my school, & being amongst the best in my class I organised a free tutorial program for free just to create a diversion and not think of the heartbreak. I knew it'd drain me.

I became very popular, successful in academics and leadership. This brought new friends especially ladies. However, I could not love again. I was enticed with gifts & other goodies. As I tried to sustain a relationship, the more I failed. At a point I had to meet a Counsellor.

These summed up reasons I never imagined or thought I'd fall in love during my NYSC. But I was wrong. Na there, my Eve tanda dey wait for me😀. This life shaa...

NYSC deployment came and Edo was were I was deployed. I was picked to be the Platoon Leader of Platoon 5, 2018 NYSC Orientation camp. I never knew I was about getting shot with a love arrow straight in the heart.

Before then, she had already worked her relocation out of Edo but our meeting made her pray that the relocation should not be granted. Unfortunately, when posting came, she was posted to Imo.

She paid her way back to Edo and was posted somewhere in Benin while I was at Etsako East. My Corpers, villagers, at work place all knew about us. The feeling is deep.

My wife is an Ada from Isiala-Ngwa South and the demand (bride price and other things) to wife her was so huge but she stood by me all through. Even fought against extortion and made it easier for me. February 27th, 2022 we got married and became Mr. & Mrs. Solomon Utov. (@iamsutesolomon)

NYSC thank you for blessing me with this jewel of inestimable value. Long live NYSC Camp 😍

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

How I 'dramatically' met my wife in NYSC Sokoto

It all started on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022. I was posted to Sokoto for NYSC camp, but I had planned to be a “ghost Corper” since I lived in Kebbi, just two hours away. My plan was to only show up for clearances and return home. I was posted to Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE), Sokoto, for my PPA with my friend Firdausi.  After documentation, we were to choose a CDS group. Firdausi picked Freedom of Information Vanguard (FOIV) because it was close to the Corper’s lodge and advised me to do the same, so I did. I still wanted to relocate to Kebbi, but Firdausi encouraged me to attend CDS at least a few times to know how things worked. One Wednesday, we trekked to the CDS venue at Bado Quarters. I arrived late.  As I entered, I saw her—Saudat. A calm, beautiful young lady. I froze thinking, “If she agrees to date me, I’ll marry her after NYSC,” but another thought said, “Forget it, girls this fine here are probably married already.” Throughout the meeting, I k...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...
