How we met in Lagos NYSC camp

Az and I met in 2016 at Lagos orientation camp. We met one morning on the parade ground during morning drills. For years we have argued about who approached who first but for the sake of this story, I'll say he approached me first lol.

It wasn't love at first sight, lol it was far from it. He has a very calming personality that makes you trust him easily and when we hung out the evening of the day we met, I confided in him about some personal stuff I was going through and he listened without judging. It's not everyday you meet someone for the first time and they are already pouring out their wahala to you lol. That day marked the beginning of a great friendship.I didn't really have much friends in camp but he slowly became a very close friend.

Orientation camp ended and we all started PPA hustle but we still kept in touch. He got a PPA quickly while I was chesting rejection letters back to back so I kept changing LGAs meaning I didn't have a CDS group yet. He was in special CDS group (CDS groups that meet at NYSC secretariat) and convinced me to join Special CDS which I did. This gave us an opportunity to hangout more often and I finally got a stable PPA.

Fast forward to 2017, a few months before POP (April) we realised that feelings had started growing between us and decided to do something about that since we were both single at the time. We took things slow for a bit, then he asked me out on his birthday and we started dating officially in November 2017. Dating period was 70% long distance because my PPA retained me so I had to remain in Lagos while he got a job in another state. It wasn't easy but we would talk and call everyday and we visited eachother when we could. Long distance relationships are never easy but what kept us going was the fact that we couldn't imagine our future with anyone else.

We got engaged in May 2021. It was a really cute intimate indoor proposal. Same year, we bridged the distance and were back in the same state. We got married in August 2022 in the presence of all our favourite people and it's been a beautiful experience. I'm thankful for the gift Lagos camp gave me.

Long live NYSC 😍

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...

We met in NYSC, separated but came back together 😍🤣💍🇳🇬

Femi and I struck a friendship during our NYSC orientation exercise in 2013. Even though there was always an initial attraction; we were both committed to other things and people and we left it as a good friendship. However, we kept in touch and in 2014, while Femi was away furthering his studies, we got closer and spoke every day. At this point, we were both single and decided to commit to each other. Our friends and family became well acquainted with each other and it felt like a fairy tale. Sadly, we parted ways a few years later. We were quite young and there were a lot of sacrifices we both weren’t willing to make then. However, the love and friendship we had never wavered; and our families always kept in touch and believed that God would guide us back to each other. We started dating other people so we barely communicated due to the respect we owed our previous relationships. My relationship at the time ended terribly and surprisingly, Femi who hadn’t spoken to me in over a...
