How we met in Edo State camp 😍🇳🇬

The journey of Boluwatife and I into spousehood and wedlock can only be traced back to our time in NYSC orientation camp, Edo State - 2021 Batch C Stream 1.

I spotted this beautiful damsel while we were having the mandatory COVID-19 test upon our arrival in camp. Although I tested negative for COVID, a stronger virus called "Love at first sight" had crept into my soul. By way of divine arrangement, we were both later deployed to the same platoon.

A few days after we got to camp, I told my friend about this lady in my platoon but I was still trying to study and observe her. My friend's reply to me was "ahh you better be fast in anything you want to do about her". His words pumped me up, so I promised to take action fast.

One day, all the corps members were asked to come inside the hall for SAED registration. During the lecture I sat beside my friend. I looked back and saw Bolu coming in through the door. I alerted my friend who swiftly called her to come and sit beside us 😂. From there, we started talking - did little introduction and went into other details. From that day on we spent time walking and growing into each other till the end of camp.

Our first obstacle was relocation. We had tried to work out our reposting to the same place but hers didn't click. When her reposting came through, she got Lagos while I was in Osun. But this didn't discourage us. We made sure that our communication was strong in spite of the distance. She didn't believe me when I told her I'll love to marry her but I persisted and God made everything work out.

Permit me to say that upon completion of my programme at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2019, where I studied Political Science, I had an issue with one of my courses which delayed my NYSC mobilization for a year. I didn't know God orchestrated the delay so I can meet my wife (Accounting graduate from Oduduwa University, Osun State).

Last Saturday, we exchanged vows and were joined together as husband and wife. Our wedding was graced by His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo kingdom who gave royal blessings to our union. (Swipe to see our pictures 😍)

Long live NYSC 😀🙌💪

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

How I 'dramatically' met my wife in NYSC Sokoto

It all started on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022. I was posted to Sokoto for NYSC camp, but I had planned to be a “ghost Corper” since I lived in Kebbi, just two hours away. My plan was to only show up for clearances and return home. I was posted to Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE), Sokoto, for my PPA with my friend Firdausi.  After documentation, we were to choose a CDS group. Firdausi picked Freedom of Information Vanguard (FOIV) because it was close to the Corper’s lodge and advised me to do the same, so I did. I still wanted to relocate to Kebbi, but Firdausi encouraged me to attend CDS at least a few times to know how things worked. One Wednesday, we trekked to the CDS venue at Bado Quarters. I arrived late.  As I entered, I saw her—Saudat. A calm, beautiful young lady. I froze thinking, “If she agrees to date me, I’ll marry her after NYSC,” but another thought said, “Forget it, girls this fine here are probably married already.” Throughout the meeting, I k...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...
