We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.
She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.
The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother.
Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union itch free as we had no obstacle at all.
I proposed to the love of my life in 2021 in a closed door arrangement because my woman is a very conservative person and she insisted she doesn’t want anything public (shy to the core). This also explains why we didn't have any NYSC pictures together.
Four blissful years after our first meeting and communication, we finally became one on the 4th of November, 2023, exchanging vows in the presence of God, family, friends and the general public. We both made an irrevocable deal to stay TOGETHER FOREVER and hinged our hopes and aspirations on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the home that God built through NYSC - Mr. & Mrs. Olamide Oladunjoye (@iam_jaykiss )
