How NYSC connected me with my charming Yoruba Prince

In November 2022, I was shortlisted for NYSC and I was posted to Keffi camp, Nasarawa State. I had lived and studied in the East, University Of Nigeria, Nsukka precisely. So obeyed the clarion call and reported to Nasarawa for NYSC.

I got to the camp and finished my registration and was posted to Platoon 6. After some days of been in the camp I started making friends and mingling with people in the camp just to make my camp experience fun. In the process, I met this sweet Yoruba guy 😍 from Ondo State and also schooled in Ondo. We became good friends we got talking in the camp then I got to find out we were in the same platoon. We became inseparable and we're always together.

He also started taking me to Mami to get food we became very close in camp then we shared ideas and talked about our goals after NYSC also talked about our past relationships then we learnt we were both single. We continued as friends and one fateful day in camp he asked me to be his girlfriend.

At first I refused because I have always heard that camp relationships are mostly for 'cruise' and I wouldn’t want to be a victim so I was scared of saying yes to his proposal but he assured me that he was genuine and had good intentions for me.

After so much conviction I accepted. We started dating in camp so after 3 weeks camp we both relocated I went to Akwa Ibom he also went to Osun state which made everything looked herculean although he kept assuring me that our relationship will continue to grow stronger that distance won’t be a barrier. So after relocating we kept talking on the phone on a daily basis.

January was my birthday he invited me to Osogbo where he was serving to celebrate my birthday from there we kept going I visited his parents he did the same to mine September 2023.

On the day of our POP - November 9th 2023, he proposed to me and I accepted. Afterwards, we fixed our Traditional Marriage on 25th of November 2023. We got married and on December 1, 2024, we welcomed a baby girl into our home.

Thank you NYSC for giving me the love of my life 😍. Long live NYSC, long live Nigeria 🇳🇬

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 😃 —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

How I 'dramatically' met my wife in NYSC Sokoto

It all started on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022. I was posted to Sokoto for NYSC camp, but I had planned to be a “ghost Corper” since I lived in Kebbi, just two hours away. My plan was to only show up for clearances and return home. I was posted to Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE), Sokoto, for my PPA with my friend Firdausi.  After documentation, we were to choose a CDS group. Firdausi picked Freedom of Information Vanguard (FOIV) because it was close to the Corper’s lodge and advised me to do the same, so I did. I still wanted to relocate to Kebbi, but Firdausi encouraged me to attend CDS at least a few times to know how things worked. One Wednesday, we trekked to the CDS venue at Bado Quarters. I arrived late.  As I entered, I saw her—Saudat. A calm, beautiful young lady. I froze thinking, “If she agrees to date me, I’ll marry her after NYSC,” but another thought said, “Forget it, girls this fine here are probably married already.” Throughout the meeting, I k...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback 💖🇳🇬😍

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...
