How I found love in NYSC Kwara

Samson and I met during our service year, precisely in our CDS group - Drug Free and Quality Control (DFQC), Ilorin, Kwara State in the year 2021. I was the first to spot him but he did not take notice of me until January 2022.

He was Batch B2 2021 while I was Batch C1, 2021.

We were planning a Valentine exchange of gifts in the CDS Group where I served as PRO. So names were picked randomly in a ballot. After the exercise, I went around asking to know who picked my name. Samson came close to me and said he picked my name. I asked him to show me the evidence, he said he was joking, so I hissed and left him.

After the meeting that Thursday, we took pictures together as proof that the meeting held. He came back to me and gave me a phone to put my number which I obliged. Later that night, a message popped in with the words "My wife 😁". I was like "who wan marry dis one", after which I asked "who told u I'm your wife?". He said I should not worry.

We got chatting afterwards and that sparked the beginning of what we become our "love story". One of the things we did was to keep the relationship as discreet as possible till we completed our NYSC.
Our LGI and CDS coordinator also knew about us later on after he proposed to me. He officially asked if I will date him, I told him to let me think about it. I told him yes on the 29th of January 2022 so he can let me rest😁.

He proposed to me on January 29, 2024. On December 7, 2024 our families met and exactly a year after he proposed - January 29, 2025 - we had our Civil wedding. April 10, 2025, we had our traditional wedding and church wedding.

We had a smooth sail all through the years we dated. We are both Yorubas - I am a Lagosian while he is from Ibadan, Oyo State. The only opposition that threatened our love was from my family and it was on a light issue - church/denomination. Samson is a member of the Celestial Church, and I attend CAC. My mum was slightly against it but I was able to convince her.

Here's saying "Thank you" to NYSC for being the medium that connected me to the love of my life, my safe place, my peace, my love. My pillar of strength.

 Long live NYSC πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬♾️πŸ˜πŸ’

The beautiful NYSC love story of Mr and Mrs Enujeke 😍😍😍

My husband and I met in Niger State in 2009. He graduated from Delta State University, Abraka, and arrived at camp early. I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Unlike him, I got camp late in the afternoon and wasn’t able to complete my registration that day but secured hostel accommodation that night. The next day, after morning drills, I finished my registration where we first met. He was among the corps members assisting the new arrivals. We discovered we were in the same platoon— the great Platoon 8 πŸ˜ƒ —and from the same state, Delta State. However, I was born and raised in the north, while he had lived all his life in the south. We would walk together to morning drills and head to Mami Market with friends before resting at the hostel. What began as friendship during camp grew into feelings over the three weeks of orientation. When PPA postings were announced, he was assigned to COE in Minna, while I was posted to Bosso LG Secretariat. Despite being in different LGAs...

How I 'dramatically' met my wife in NYSC Sokoto

It all started on Wednesday, 2nd February 2022. I was posted to Sokoto for NYSC camp, but I had planned to be a “ghost Corper” since I lived in Kebbi, just two hours away. My plan was to only show up for clearances and return home. I was posted to Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE), Sokoto, for my PPA with my friend Firdausi.  After documentation, we were to choose a CDS group. Firdausi picked Freedom of Information Vanguard (FOIV) because it was close to the Corper’s lodge and advised me to do the same, so I did. I still wanted to relocate to Kebbi, but Firdausi encouraged me to attend CDS at least a few times to know how things worked. One Wednesday, we trekked to the CDS venue at Bado Quarters. I arrived late.  As I entered, I saw her—Saudat. A calm, beautiful young lady. I froze thinking, “If she agrees to date me, I’ll marry her after NYSC,” but another thought said, “Forget it, girls this fine here are probably married already.” Throughout the meeting, I k...

We met in NYSC and our fathers were friends from wayback πŸ’–πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ˜

We met precisely in 2019 during the INEC training for corps members towards the 2019 Elections at Government Secondary School Apata, Ibadan. I noticed her from a distance however I couldn’t summon the courage to speak with her but with the help of one of my friends who was also serving at that time I was able to speak with her.  She was a bit reserved but she communicated well with my friends and I. We had our first outing on February 14, 2019. The ride wasn’t a very smooth one but we became friends and gradually we got closer and we became lovers.  The success of our relationship can be traced to many things. First, although we are both Yorubas - she (Kwara State) while I am from Ekiti - after our service year, we both reside and work in Ilorin - which made the relationship smoother. Another factor which made me conclude that God's hand was indeed in our relationship was that we found out that my father and her father knew each other from way back. This made our union...
